About

UO Snow is the University of Oregon’s official club Freestyle Ski & Snowboard Team. The team travels to Mt. Bachelor every weekend during the winter season to freeride casually and to participate in competitions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can join the team?

Anyone who has a passion for snowboarding! Our only requirement is that you need to be dedicated to the team and participate in fundraising and social events.

Are there try-outs for the team?

No. We hand out applications at our informational meeting each year and choose team members that way. We generally cap the team at 50 people.

What if I’m not that good/haven’t been riding long?

Don’t worry about it! The team is all about learning and having fun. As long as you’re excited about riding, we’d be glad to have you.

What about lift tickets and passes?

Lift tickets/passes are the responsibility of each member.  Bachelor offers a variety of season passes.  Please check their website (http://www.mtbachelor.com) for more information.  To ensure that everyone gets the best deal on their pass, we encourage each person to purchase a preseason pass during the time that Bachelor offers this deal publicly.  Last year Bachelor offered UO Snow riders a pre-season rate for season passes past their pre-season rate deadline.  This opportunity is subject to change, the current coordinators will cover season pass information in more detail at introductory meetings.

How much are dues?

Estimated dues for this upcoming season are $125.

What is included with team membership?

Members of UO Snow gain the opportunity to: participate in at least ten organized carpool trips to Mt.Bachelor, receive discounts on equipment and gear from our sponsors, use fundraiser money to help support competition entry and bibs, be featured in team produced edits/videos, and make friends with others who share similar interest!

I don’t have a car, so how do I get to Bachelor?

The team provides two 12-person vans every weekend during the season. Spots are reserved on a first-come-first-serve basis, so whoever signs up first gets a spot!

Can I bring a guest with me?

Nope, sorry.

Is competing mandatory?

Not at all! We encourage all members to participate in competitions, but if it is outside your comfort zone, you will not be forced to compete.

Does UOsnow take overnight trips?

Yes. We try to take as many cabin trips as possible, and we are shooting for three to four this upcoming season. Most members think these trips are the most fun and creating the most bonding opportunities among team members.
